Strays and Surrenders

At Fayette Friends of Animals, we are a no-kill shelter, meaning we do not euthanize animals to make room for new arrivals. Because of this commitment, our available spaces fluctuate daily, depending on adoptions and the animals currently in our care.

If you find yourself in a situation where you must surrender a pet, we ask that you contact us as early as possible at (724) 245-7815. This allows us to schedule an appointment to evaluate your pet’s temperament and health. Please note that, for the safety of our staff, we are unable to accept pets that cannot be safely handled.

Once your pet passes the evaluation, we will add your name to our waitlist. the wait time for an available kennel can vary, ranging from a few days to several months, depending on our current capacity and the size of you pet.

thank you for your understanding and for giving us the time we need to ensure we can provide the best care possible for all the animals in our shelter.
